The theme with these forums has largely been less cancer. Would it make sense they are?

Well I mean Signatures aren't really cancerous, surely you have a way to remove any cancerous Signatures people put up...

This is really different and is going to take a while to get used to. I was always a fan of the simple forum look, not big on the forum layout but its pretty.

Love the new forums! But people keep laughing at me cuz it looks like I'm using IE....

I'm using edge you jerks! lol

That's the symbol for Edge, not IE! It looks different I promise

Only issue I have is how loud pm's are and how many times it goes off in my notifications. As well as the groups, I've been looking everywhere to see what they are!

Have you considered looking in settings to see if you can change or disable the sound?

I can only turn it off, so I guess it's a Chrome issue? I don't really know

## The new forums are here!

Obviously everything has changed and a fair bit of stuff still needs some tweaking which we'll address over the next few days. We already know some people will have issues with change however in the long run these will better enable us to actually code custom things, not have to worry so much about the unfortunate state of security of the previous forums software that has left ratings and numerous other things broken when pushing security patches.

New Features Highlights:

  • These forums unlike most use modern technologies and are blazing fast
  • Topics will live update when you post on them
  • The flags shown when post are based on your location when you made the post
  • Your current browser and OS are shown next to your post so those poor Mac and Internet Explorer users can be made fun of
  • BBCode is out and Markdown is in (see here for formatting help)
  • Ratings are public but they won't notify you like they used to. Did I mention they also live update?
  • Private messages are more like chat rooms
  • You can have multiple ranks so your ranks from all servers will be synced
  • Global chat is nearly instant and no longer has a 1 second delay
  • You can browse while you write a post!
  • A bunch of other stuff

What's changing:

  • We have a community category for community discussion as well as the server categories. Do not use the Off Topic category for server stuff.
  • We have removed the leaving section. It was constantly misused for people who won't be on for a whole day. If you're a staff contact an SA+ directly or use the staff section.
  • Shitting up the forums will earn you a ban (banning is really easy on these forums it's great, also there's no warnings system, please don't shit up our hard work)
  • We have no teamspeak sync system yet however we'll likely move this to an in game system over the next week

Ewwwwww Mozilla firefox

So, some small category updates.

  • Changed introductions to introductions and leaving
  • Added off topic discussion
  • Added discussion back to servers sections
  • Remove General Discussion from community
  • Will probably add rants back later if you guys want that?

**I thought https://forum.superiorservers.co/category/15/sensationalist-debate includes rants but if it doesnt why not add it back** **So yes, add rants back. BTW fix the live ratings** ![http://i.imgur.com/0vDL2YA.png](http://i.imgur.com/0vDL2YA.png) **Its just getting ridiculous (It fixes itself after reloading but still weird)**

Also I fucked up and deleted General Discussion so post away people.

Meh. Needed a cleaning anyway.

Alright so here is my 100%, no bullshit ball-gargling full opinion about the new forums IN COMPARISON to the old forums. This is also a personal opinion and I know things are still W.I.P...

Pros

  • I like the recent topics sort of slider thing on the index page
  • I like the way things are organised
  • I like the no tolerance for shitposting
  • Shoutbox seems neater
  • On a big screen, the Forums look amazing
  • The updated look is very good
  • Image Uploading and images in general
  • Video/Link Embedding looks good
  • Once you get your head around it colouring is quite expansive and better than old forums
  • Server List is better
  • New Ratings are good
  • These forums are actually super fast and have amazing load times, that's actually aplaudable gj

Cons

  • I miss my snip and Image

  • I can't set a custom group title or whatever it was called

  • The formatting for posts is awful... sorry but it's fucking shit. The way the old forums did it was perfectly fine

  • I can't see when people read my messages I've sent via chat

  • I can't subscribe to a singular post

  • unsnipped Horiziontal Lines don't work for me on iOS smh

  • The notification sounds and how they can't be turned down, only turned on and off.

  • No Staff count list (Yeah I know this is being worked on)

  • No general discussion for DRP and/or CWRP... instead now I need to name my posts as [CWRP] (enter title)

  • Colouring is hard to get your head around

  • iOS view is a clusterfuck and as a primarily mobile user I wanna kms

Those are what I find to be the pros and cons of these new forums, I will admit although the change is nice and I appreciate what you guys have done I find it to be a bit unnecessary and rushed. The change from BBCode to Markdown (I believe you said it was) I don't get, but I am sure you had your reasons. I feel like if you changed the template of the old forums it would've saved a lot more time and it would've better and saved a lot of time (and my forum posts and reputation). Maybe in time it will end out better than the original forums. It's not bad, but it's not as good as what my perception of Superior Servers products standard should be at either. I may be the only person that feels this way, or many others may feel this way. You may care about my opinion or not, but that's what I think about these forums as of now.

Sorry if someone has already replied to you but the reason for Markdown is simply that it's what is used by NodeBB, and as such it's what they had to do. I don't think Markdown is bad at all, it's just something that takes getting used to. It's used on sites like Reddit and Discord as well.
